Before we get to today's five questions, I must say Happy Birthday to Lynsie! We've gotten pretty close since I started at the law firm and I love her to death! We're so close that I'll eventually be invited to her wedding! So exciting :).
Since our birthdays are so close together (mine's tomorrow!) we're going to dinner tonight with some friends and lunch tomorrow with another friend. I'm so excited. I just have to get through this last reporting shift (where I am now) before I can celebrate! I'll update more about my reporting shifts this Sunday when I finally have some down time. For you see, my amazing roommate got us tickets to see my favorite band in Rolla, MO on Saturday! It'll only be my second concert ever and I won't be escorted by my father so it's a big deal. It's also the reason why we're only doing lunch tomorrow. That, and Lynsie is in law school so her finals start next week! Good luck!
Anyways, for today's five question friday courtesy of Five Crooked Halos -
1. If you could, would you go back to high school?
No. Definitely not. I had my good times and bad but looking back on it, it was a lot of unecessary drama. Of course all high schooler should go through that. It's part of the maturing process. But I've been there. Done that.
2. If a genie appeared and granted you two wishes, what would they be? (And, no saying "more wishes".)
I would probably wish for a 4.0 this semester and for my apartment complex to start allowing pets so my baby could live with me. I miss my puppy. If one of those wasn't allowed, I'd want my parents to move back to Texas.
3. What kids show do you secretly like?
I watch the Disney Channel occaisionally. Most things on there are pretty funny :)
4. What is your beverage of choice?
Depends on my mood. Sometimes I like water. Sometimes I like Coke or Mountain Dew or whatever I'm feeling.
5. What is something that you would change about yourself (or are working to change in yourself)?
I would keep my room cleaner. I just don't have time to put everything back where it belongs. I am always running out the door. :)
I'm off to cover a story on the Budweiser Clydesdales! How pretty!

Top Two Tuesday
It's time for another Top Two Tuesday from the Undomestic Momma
Today's topic: Favorite things about summer!
1. Martha's Vineyard! My Aunt owns a cute little cottage there and I absolutely love it! All of the houses in her area are "gingerbread" houses. The pink house is my favorite, obviously. It's one of the most photographed spots on the Vineyard. I used to spend a lot of time up there as a kid but we moved a lot. Now that my parents live in New England, we go back much more often! I love it! Over the summer, the family is in and out all the time. It's one of the only times that I'm able to see my cousins!
2. Summer Dresses! Sure, my collection isn't as large as I'd really like it to be, but hey, I like to wear them as much as possible! I plan on extending my collection this summer :)
Alright, alright. I've procrastinated my paper for far too long. I haven't even finished reading what's required for the paper yet. No worries. It's only 5 pages and is due tomorrow at 6.

Five Question Friday
Courtesy of Five Crooked Halos!
I haven't been blogging at all recently. I'm lucky if I get one blog per week! I blame it on working 15 hours a week, going to school 15 hours a week, working out at the station 3 times a week (sometimes for 10 hours at a time), and doing all sorts of homework, reading, etc. for school. As soon as it dies down, I'll be back and blogging up a storm. Promise.
I have never been more thankful for Friday. TGIF! I had my first reporting shift last night and I must say it didn't go as smoothly as possible. But I was the lead story and it got done.
Since I hadn't participated in 5 Question Friday, I made the decision (at 9 am this morning) that I would do it today! :)
1. What was the first car you owned?
A red 2001 Ford Mustang...convertible! I loved that car. Sure, towards the end it started to hate me for driving a little too fast sometimes and made me fix multiple things, but hey...it was fun while it lasted!
2. What song are you embarrassed to know the lyrics to?
3. Have you ever had stitches?
Knock on wood... but no! I've never cut myself so badly that I've needed them! Thank goodness too. I hate needles.
4. What was your first job?
I was an administrative assistant for my dad's office in Texas. Retalix, USA made me realize that working with my dad is embarrassing. He doesn't hold back on the stories that should be kept between my family. Lucky for me...I made the same mistake and worked for his office in New Hampshire a few summers ago. But it wasn't as bad. I had developed wit and wasn't as sensitive to the embarrassing.
5. Who is your favorite Sesame Street character?
I LOVE Elmo, Oscar the Grouch, COOKIE MONSTER, and Snuffy. Yeah, I watched it a lot as a kid.
I have 4 movies and a bunch of blankets. I'm in PJs and cuddled up in a nest. This is going to be the best Friday night ever!

Weekend Recap
Since I finally have a few minutes (while recording my lecture instead of taking notes), I'm finally going to post about my life recently and what's to come in the near future. Because I have so many pictures, I'm just going to put them randomly throughout the post rather than all at the bottom. (This picture is carpet. Weird I know but it was too cute!)
This past weekend I went back to Texas to see a friend. I've already explained why I went (for his formal) in a previous blog (Long time no blog) so I'm not going to explain it again.
I left Missouri Thursday after classes and got into Abilene, Texas in the evening. When I landed, I swear I thought I was in Columbia still. It was in the middle of nowhere with around the same number of residents. Too creepy. (More carpet, but it's of my favorite city in the world!)
The rest of the trip was spent meeting his friends and just hanging out. It was a nice break from the busy week I had last week trying to prep for the weekend and it was a nice start to this week, which is incredibly busy as well.
Saturday was the formal at the Gaylord Texan Resort. I've been there once before over the summer while I was in Texas for two weeks. (The star is the top of the ceiling in the middle of the Gaylord. This -> picture is of me and my roommate when we were there over the summer. No, we did not mean to match) There was a dinner theatre and it was quite funny. Of course, I laugh at anything. TD said it was "cute" but I don't care what he thinks. I thought it was funny. They involved the audience and it was a mystery. It was fun and the food was yummy too. It was a nice refresher on what utensil to use for which course. :)
This is obviously me and the guy is obviously the friend I visited. This was taken in the middle of the resort. They have very Texas things in the middle (like the Alamo behind us) and other cute fountains and resauratnts. I've already looked into getting married there. And of course, I had to take a vertical picture as well to remember some day what dress I was wearing.

After a few bumps in the road regarding travel plans, I came home a little early on Sunday. I have yet to unpack. I hate unpacking more than I hate packing (and I take days to pack).
There's nothing that new other than last weekend going on in my life right now. I'm trying to figure out some fun things to do this summer while I'm in Columbia. I'm thinking a vacation to Martha's Vineyard is a must. My Aunt has a house there and I spent many summers there as a young kid, went on a hiatus, then went back a few times since being in college. It reminded me how much I love my family and how much I love the simple lifestyle of the Vineyard.
Besides doing homework/papers, sleeping, working, and being at the station, I've been keeping up with the countdown to my birthday. So far, 17 days left. Katy got tickets for us to see Anberlin on my birthday in Missouri and I'm so excited. It'll be only my second concert ever (other than Backstreet Boys in 5th grade), it's on my 21st birthday, and I'm going with my best friend! Plus I love the band. Duh. Before the concert, I want to have a birthday lunch with a few girlfriends and celebrate with them. Lynsie's birthday is the day before mine so we decided yesterday to make it a celebration for both of us! :) It's going to be fun. I'm sure there will be tons of pictures!
I've tried to make this blog a long one since I don't have anything else to do for the next hour and a half of class, but I'm running out of things to write about. Fine. I'll pay attention.

Top 2 Tuesday
I've been neglecting my blogging recently due to my incredibly busy schedule, but I couldn't resist today's Top 2 Tuesday. It's beauty secrets!
1. GinZing! I love this stuff from Origins. I recently bought it over Spring Break and it has very much so adapted into my daily routine! It instantly reduces puffiness and dark circles under my eyes as well as works towards reducing the puffiness and circles all together (over time). Since my sleep schedule is all sorts of messed up and will stay that way for the next month, I have come to make this thing my best friend. Plus, it's $30 for a three month supply!
2. InStyler! I received this as a Christmas gift and have fallen in love with it! I previously used a Chi straightener but found that this straightener gave me more body and life rather than the straight-to-your-face feeling I get with a Chi. Plus, this lets you curl your ends much more easily than the Chi and it's especially easier with shorter hair (no risk of burning yourself trying to get your ends to curl with the Chi!)
I'll hopefully have another update/post soon. I have been quite busy as of late and it won't get better until my birthday (which is 18 days away).

Long time no blog
Between spring break, class, work, and finally being out at the station, I haven't had much free time. When I have had a bit to myself, I'm usually trying to breathe and not stress out for 5 minutes.
Spring break was a blast. It was warm and I spent probably too much money. Whatever. I'm young. I'm not supposed to budget things yet. I did get a lot of staple items that will go well with things I already have to dress them up or dress them down. I have a much more versatile wardrobe now, which will be nice considering I'll be going in and out of the station and work this summer. I'm not required to dress up at work so why do it if I don't need to?
I've only been home 3 days and I'm starting to pack again for a trip BACK to Texas. I'm going with a friend to his "frat" formal. He goes to a Christian school so technically it's not a frat, but it's the same idea. Close enough. I'll be leaving tomorrow afternoon and come back on Sunday, but it messed with my entire schedule this week as far as work goes. Instead of my normal 12-5 pm today, I was scheduled to do 8-5 today. Yuck. However, I did mis-set my alarm and work up at 8 instead of 7 so I was a smidge late to work. Luckily, I have an amazing boss who is incredibly flexible and understanding. I'm pretty sure he doesn't care when people come in as long as the work gets done and we tell them what's going on.
I can't express how excited I am for May 1st. Yes, it's my 21st birthday, but it means that I am completely and totally done with my stuff for KOMU. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited about working for the station, but it'll mean that I'm done with being stressed, just in time for a short break before finals. I have 2 shifts just shooting footage and writing a little bit and 3 shifts for reporting that have to be done before finals. It's not horrible, but I want to get it over with and knew this week would be a short one for me because of travel plans, so I scheduled my shifts so I am done by my birthday. This means some days I will be doing two shifts a week but hey, it'll get done.
One added stress is that I am volunteering for cut-ins at the station. I wanted to do a few to help boost my grade, but I think I actually liked it so I scheduled a few more. This means some weeks, I'll be at the station more than class, work, or at home. That's outrageous, but I should probably get used to it.
Overall, I'm excited and stressed about the rest of the semester. I know it'll going by fast though. Then I'll be a senior in college. Woah.
That's me during my second time to do cut-ins :)
If you'd like to see the videos of my cut-ins, check them out on YouTube.
